We all make mistakes. If we repent though, Heavenly Father will help us correct our paths so that they are aligned with His plan for us. I know this for a fact. He loves us so much and will not leave us worse off because of a mistake that we are trying to repent of. I am so grateful for this knowledge.
Sometimes we feel prompted to do something that doesn't lead us down the path that we had hoped. However, like Elder Holland says in the video, Heavenly Father does this so that we can appreciate the correct path even more, knowing with a surety that it is the path that Heavenly Father intended for us, because we have done all we could do to get there.
